Project Cauã shows students (high school and university) how to use commodity open source hardware, free software and open data to create products from which they can assemble solutions for customers, then sell and support the solutions in their own spare-time business.
This will generate a significant amount of money for room, board, computers, internet charges, and other charges that a student has outside of tuition.
While not every student will have the technical abilities to provide these services it is felt that computer science, computer engineering and information sciences students will be able follow these step-by-step instructions.
Some products (such as a POS/ERP system) might benefit by two-person teams, one with IT knowledge and one with business knowledge.
